New players look at a Heaven Card and see a roll of the dice; skilled players read it like a weather forecast. Every Heaven Card (one of the 64 Hexagrams of the I Ching) carries explicit Market Price parameters — Water +2, Fire +1, Wood +1, Earth +0 — or effects such as "three Waters grow one Wood", Interest charges, or Rent adjustments. The key point is that the parameters are written on the card before it is even revealed; players who can read them can position themselves a full Round in advance. That is the "information advantage".
The market's total supply is fixed: Wood 24, Water 12, Fire 16, Earth 12. Elements in scarce supply (Water, Earth) are more price-sensitive, while Wood sees the strongest demand because skills can convert it (the Scholar's Literary Talent, "three Waters grow one Wood"). Once you understand "inventory" and "demand", you will know which element still has room to rise — don't only read the Heaven Cards, read the market too.
Fire cards can be bought and sold 2 times each Round, making Fire the only element you can enter and exit within the same Round. The trick: the Heaven Card clearly says Fire will rise → buy 2 → sell the moment it rises. Fire moves fast, but it also changes direction fast — only day-trade in directions you understand; if you don't understand it, stay away from Fire.
Some roles are born card readers: Crane (Dao Gaze) can secretly peek at the next Heaven Card — the most powerful information skill in the whole game; Scholar (Literary Talent) can convert Wood into gold at the Market Price, so when Wood rises, it is essentially a free cash-out; Tightener (Short Selling) can sell an unlimited number of times, ideal for selling high and buying low. When you draw one of these roles, make good use of your skills and cut out meaningless trades.
The dividing line between a master and a newbie is whether they treat the Heaven Card as readable information. Read the Heaven Cards, watch the inventory, calculate the costs, use your skills — once you start "predicting" the Market Price instead of "praying" for it, you upgrade from a gambler into a trader.
